Nuvoton Microcontroller and Development board:

The NuVoton microcontroller family features a range of products, with some of them being industry firsts, such as: The 8051 microcontroller, nuvoton nuc029lan, m487 jidae. The world’s smallest ARM Cortex-M3 based MCU which integrates two high-performance ARM Cortex-M3 cores and 64KB Flash, running at up to 120MHz; Ultra-low power real time clock/calendar that consumes only 16uA in standby mode and 12uA when active; The world’s smallest ECC Flash microcontroller with a 10F 100mA ECC Flash memory featuring Advanced Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) technology. This chip enables production cost reduction by eliminating anti-fuse processes for devices requiring non-volatile memory.

Nuvoton 8051 Microcontroller:

The 8051 microcontroller is an 8-bit controller that includes 40-pins with dual package, 8K Bytes Internal ROM and it is a flash memory that supports while programming the system, RAM-128 bytes, ROM-4kb & 16-bit timers 2. Based on the requirement 8051 Microcontroller, 8051 Microcontroller includes addressable & programmable 4 parallel 8-bit ports. The system bus in the 8051 microcontroller plays the important role to connect all the devices to the central processing unit.

Features of 8051 Microcontroller:

● 8-bit CPU through two Registers A & B.

● 8K Bytes — Internal ROM and it is a flash memory that supports while programming the system.

● 256 Bytes — Internal RAM where the first RAM with 128 Bytes from 00H to 7FH is once more separated into four banks through 8 registers in every bank, addressable registers -16 bit & general-purpose registers — 80.

● The remaining 128 bytes of the RAM from 80H to FFH include Special Function Registers (SFRs). These registers control various peripherals such as Serial Port, Timers, all I/O Ports, etc.

● Interrupts like External-2 & Internal-3

● Oscillator & CLK Circuit.

● Control Registers like PCON, SCON, TMOD, TCON, IE, and IP

Cortex-M0:

Nuvoton NUC029LAN is a 32-bit microcontroller with embedded Arm Cortex-M0 core for industrial control and applications which need rich communication interfaces. NUC029LAN can run up to 50 MHz, operate with 2.5V ~ 5.5V supply voltage, — 40°C ~ +85°C temperature range, has 64 KB flash, 4 KB ISP ROM and 4 KB SRAM. Many systems level peripheral functions, such as up to 8 channels PWM, up to 8 channels 12-bit ADC, I/O port, Timer, UART, SPI, Watchdog Timer, and Brown-out Detector.

Features of NUC029LAN Microcontroller:

● Voltage range: 2.5V ~ 5.5V

● Memory: 64Kb flash memory

● 4Kb SRAM

● 4 KB ISP ROM

● Interfaces: Up to 2 SPI, Up to 2 I²C, Up to 2 UART, 16/8-bits EBI interface

Cortex M4:

The M487 JIDAE is the 32-bit microcontroller that is a high performance, low power microcontroller. Nuvoton M487 JIDAE can work up to 192 MHz with 175 µA/ MHz dynamic low power consumption. The 512 KB embedded dual bank Flash memory supports OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware upgrade, and the 160 KB embedded SRAM includes 32 KB cache to speed up external SPI Flash code execution. One-Time Programmable ROM is also included for product life-cycle management. Nuvoton M487 JIDAE has a built-in Secure protection ROM which provides a safe space for saving confidential data.

Features of Nuvoton M487 JIDAE:

● Memory Protection Unit ( MPU )

Memory:

● 512 KB zero-wait state Flash memory

● 160 KB RAM, including 32 KB external SPI Flash cache

● 2 KB One-Time-Programmable ROM

● 4 to 24 MHz crystal oscillator

● 32 kHz oscillator for RTC

● Internal 12 MHz RC oscillator

● Internal 10 kHz RC oscillator
